Stubby Hex Key Considerations:

• Stubby hex keys provide all the same advantages as a full size hex key, but reach areas where overhead clearance is tight.
• Some people cut off standard L-wrenches to create the Stubby affect:
• Burrs are created unless they are eliminated by filing.
• Radius will not be optimal like a Bondhus® Stubby.
• The resulting wrench will still not reach all tight areas accessible by the Stubby
• A standard L-wrench is ruined in the process
Obviously, the 'do-it-yourself' approach of cutting down a standard hex key falls far short of optimal results.
