Material Specification   Couplings and Flange Adapters End Ring Aqualok end rings up to 300mm are manufactured from Ductile Iron to BS 2789: 1985 Grade 420/12 SABS 1143:1977 Above 300mm from Rolled Steel to BS 4360 : 1986 Centre Sleeve Manufactured from Rolled Steel to BS 4360 : 1986 Grade 43A Gasket The performance of a flexible coupling gasket is critical to the performance of the coupling itself. The coupling gasket absorbs all movements resulting from expansion and contraction and enables the coupling to perform under the specified angular and lateral displacements of between 5 and 6 degrees. Standard Aqualok gaskets are manufactured from EPDM to ISO 4633:1983 SABS 974:1986 Bolt, Nut & Washer Standard coupling bolts are manufactured from : Low carbon unalloyed steel to BS970:1991 Part 1 Grade 070M20. Bolts are captivated by an oval cup head, resulting in single spanner assembly. Each bolt is supplied with a single nut and washer, all hot dipped galvanised to BS729:1971 Stainless Steel, cadmium plated or other specified corrosion protection coatings for bolts, nuts and washers are available on request.
