| problem |
Original design
used M 5 x 14 machine screws with lockwashers.
Cross-threading occurred quite often and the lockwasher
did not effectively keep handles tight. |
| solution |
Use of k-tite M
5 x 14 thread rolling screws directly into the
cored holes of the die cast handles. Cross-threading
was eliminated. The need for the sems lockwasher
was eliminated. |

| |
| problem |
High cost of tapping
the 4 holes in the "high pressure" aluminum
die cast body and the high cost of efficiently
cleaning out the chips cause by tapping. |
| solution |
Using k-tite M
5 x 20 thread rolling screws eliminated tapping
of the holes. |
| customer
benefit |
In-place cost
savings was lowered due to elimination of the
need to tap the holes. |
