In many cases the standard Durbal heavy duty rod ends with electro galvanized housings serve their purpose. When we use use steel in moist or corrosive applications such as food processing, marine/salt water environments, surface rust and deterioration results. Our Durbal Stainless Steel rod ends is the alternative solution. The BEF series are primarily used for small swiveling or tilting movements at low speeds. They stand out for their high load ability as well as used for shock like loads. The rod end ball slides on a plastic bearing shell consisting of a proprietary glass fiber-filed nylon/Teflon compound. This design ensures an absolutely maintenance free rod end. Durbal heavy duty plain bearing rod ends have a slight initial stress and virtually no clearance (play). The race compound has a favorable secondary advantage in that it absorbs any foreign particles and encloses them so that no damage will occur. Also a side benefit is the 3 part composite compound dampens sound. The joint ball of the Durbal heavy duty rod end is covered with a hard chrome plating to ANSI 440B. This reliable corrosion protection ensures that the function of the rod end will not be affected by corrosion on the ball surface under humid or corrosive applications.
