The DURBAL DIRT SHIELD© enhances the dirt shield protection system of ball and roller bearing rod ends; keeping out contamination such as dust, abrasives, etc. This patented design utilizes a neoprene rubber seal bonded to an aircraft tolerance stainless steel washer. The seal encapsulates the bearing and flexes accordingly with any change in angularity. This innovative design provides unprecedented protection from dirt and other types of contaminates which can severely shorten the life of expensive rod ends. The neoprene rubber is engineered for a wide range of temperature variation and is impervious to gasoline, oils, and most other common fluids. We recommend that when installing the dirt shield, fill the grommet cup 1/8 to 1/4 full with water pump grease.
