DURBAL SELECTED SPECIALTY
GREASE FOR ROD ENDS.
The Durbal rod ends are pre-lubricated at
the factory with Esso EP1 general purpose, calcium complex grease.
Because each application is different as determined by the end user, we
have designed a "High End Generic" rod end. To increase the
life of our rod end in "High Use Applications" we offer the
following to extend the operating life of the Durbal Ball bearing and
Roller bearing rod ends.
When re-greasing, use only a Calcium
Complex Grease.
- While the bearing is running, slowly
pump in the new grease until the excess grease being bled from the
bearing shields changes in consistency or color. This waste grease
should eventually look similar to the new product.
- Repeat step #1 after 1 to 2 hours of
operation, or after the bearing has reached a steady-state
(temperature) operating condition.
- Run the bearing for one week (only if
the previous relubrication frequency was greater than one week) and
relubrication using the normal relubrication procedure.
- Relubrication more frequently during
the first two relubrication periods.
- Initiate testing (power consumption,
amperage draw, relubrication frequency, etc.)
- Always clean grease fittings before
relubrication.
- Always pump slowly.
- Always apply new grease to a bearing
which is turning.
- Always use a compatible grease
When re-greasing the rod end is required,
we recommend our BEM-34-132 CALCIUM COMPLEX GREASE. Some of the
outstanding features are;
