Information about SERTO, the company

GRESSEL was founded in 1923 as an engineering workshop by Edmund GRESSEL and is still managed today by the third generation of the family. In 1933 the GRESSEL company designed and manufactured the first bench vice, and then in 1941 the first machine vices came into production. Today a wide range of products under GRESSEL clamping technology is offered.

What started with the tube connection EGA (Edmund GRESSEL Aadorf) in 1952, with time and development became the SERTO compression fitting - a complete system of tube unions, valves, tubes and accessories. The advantages of the unique radial system are still impressive today, when it comes to assembly and dismantling.

In several stages the further development of the company to the actual GRESSEL AG took place with an efficient distribution network in Switzerland and abroad.

In 2001 GRESSEL AG was divided into 2 companies; GRESSEL AG for clamping systems and SERTO AG for fittings.

February 2007    Management takes over Serto Ltd
The Swiss specialist for tube unions, Serto Ltd, has recently been acquired by its managers in the framework of an MBO. The founding family Müller-Gressel has sold all its shares in the corporate group to management as a means of regulating the firm’s succession. The current course of development and growth will be pursued and jobs at all six companies safeguarded.

The entrepreneurial independence is guaranteed by constant product innovations, investments in modern manufacturing plants and a high level of self-financing.
