Shear-Loc Products, developers of the Original Instant Thumbscrew Knob has recently announced the introduction of a new line of thumbscrews with a hex key drive giving the user a dual locking and adjustment system.

The new line has been designated the Key Drive Series. Each particular size has a hex equivalent to that of a standard socket head cap screw so no special tools are required for installation. The knob portion of the thumbscrew is in the round knurled style with diameters that match those of the companies existing product line, allowing the user to use both lines while maintaining a good cosmetic appearance.

The new line is manufactured under the patented Shear-Loc cold-forming process that allows the company to convert standard alloy or stainless socket head cap screws into thumbscrews. With the addition of the new Key Drive Series Shear-Loc now offers five styles of knobs in 17 different sizes, giving the user over 3000 combinations to choose from.

The new Key Drive Series is available in 11 screw sizes ranging from 4-40 to 5/16-24 and in 7 standard screw lengths, however many other lengths are available. The knobs are offered in 4 colors, black, red, gray and yellow. Maryland Metrics will furnish free Shear-Loc sample kits to qualified customers for testing needs.
